Huntingford Campsite lies along a river valley, in a remote corner of Hampshire.
After a lazy breakfast, wander along the farm animal trail, just pick up a leaflet from the reception for a self-guided tour. If you have any questions, we are always happy to answer them.
Carefully enjoy the fun of the river, or a game of sport or just indulge in each other’s company.
Later on, lie back near the river and listen to its soothing sounds, watch the sun sink, catch the occasional moo of a cow or crow of a rooster until the stars come out. At the right time of year, follow the shooting stars across the sky; pick out various planets; and watch the International Space Station zoom by.
We are on several National cycle routes: the King Alfred’s Way and the Shipwright’s Way, so we warmly welcome long distance cyclists. We are also close to Alice Holt Forest, Frensham Commons and Frensham Ponds and the Bourne Woods for shorter journeys and walks. The latter two you may notice from award winning films and TV shows, such as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and Gladiator!
The Blue Bell pub in Dockenfield offers excellent food and beer in a beautiful location and is only 45 minutes away on foot, or 5 minutes by car! There are also several other pubs and places to eat in the local area.
There are many things to do in the area from Go Ape in Alice Holt and Birdworld to Alton’s Watercress Line and Jane Austen’s House in Chawton, and many more.
